Operation Eyesight CEO to join Conscious Capitalism debate with gunnercooke

November 11, 2019

We are delighted to welcome the CEO of a truly inspirational organisation, Operation Eyesight, as part of gunnercooke’s Conscious Capitalism series.

Aly Bandali leads this international development organisation which works to eliminate avoidable blindness with the help of donations and support from foundations, corporations and governments. Based in Canada, they have brought sight-restoration and blindness-prevention treatment to millions of people since their foundation in 1963. The organisation has shifted its course to become an impact-driven organisation that meaningfully contributes to the UN’s Agenda 2030. In 2017, Operation Eyesight was recognised as a leader doing exceptional work to integrate and advance action towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by Global Compact Network Canada.

gunnercooke’s Conscious Capitalism series aims to create an ongoing debate around the role of business leaders in taking industries forward whilst taking an ethical, values-led approach.

Explaining his motivation for the Conscious Capitalism series, co-founder of gunnercooke, Darryl Cooke, said:  “‘Quite rightly there is much debate about the role of businesses and their leaders in putting their people and their communities before profit and frankly just doing the right thing. The Conscious Capitalism series sponsored by gunnercooke takes that debate to a different level with an agenda comprising some of the World’s leading thinkers”.

Please join us in the debate on 21 November at 5.30 in The Dome Room at 1 Cornhill, London.
