In November 2019, gunnercooke attended the Business Culture Awards where our very own Head of People and Culture, Lucy Hargreaves, took home the Ambassador of the Year award.
This award comes after the firm was the Overall Winner for Business Culture at the 2018 event. We are incredibly proud to be continually recognised in these awards as a great culture is something that we place at the centre of everything we do at gunnercooke.
Our unique culture has played a huge part in helping us to grow from 2 to 200 partners in just 9 years. Lucy received some outstanding feedback, with the judges taking a particular shine to her retail past: “I love the fact that the buzz, excitement and fun of retail has been brought into a traditional work industry.”
Further feedback included: “with the added complexity of a remote workforce, Lucy has done an exemplary job in raising morale and creating a social and unified culture.” Judges also commended our market-leading NPS score of +85, in part putting this down to the great culture that Lucy has helped to foster. They commented, “well done Lucy for championing this, and well done gunnercooke for empowering her to do so.”
Lucy has brought a variety of initiatives into the firm to ensure that lawyers felt they were part of something much bigger than it would seem when they were working remotely from their home office. These initiatives range from ensuring wellbeing, introducing an internal social network, building a cohesive back office team and evolving our annual Symposium into something truly special.
