Symposium 2018: Who are our speakers?

It’s just under a week to go until we head down to Oxford for our fifth annual Symposium!

We’re currently putting the final touches to all our preparations for the big event to make sure its our best yet, and what better time to found out more about our fantastic speakers. Here’s some information about them and what they will be speaking about…

 

Jim Lawless, ‘Taming Tigers’

Jim Lawless is one of the most inspirational and highly sought-out business speakers in Europe. He is the only authority on change and personal development to have put his life on the line to prove his theories.

In 2010, Jim broke the British No. Limits free-diving record and became the deepest British free-diver in history and the first to break the magic 100 m barrier on a single breath of air.

 

Steve Byrne, ‘The Importance of Knowing you Why’

Steve is the CEO of Travel Counsellors, a global enterprise operating in seven countries. The company has over 1,800 franchises specialising in personalised corporate and leisure travel, with more than a 60% repeat business rate and a world-beating 96% customer satisfaction score.

It is the only travel company to twice be awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, most recently in 2014 for International Trade.

 

Julia Langkraehr, ‘Are you Running Your Business or is it Running You?’

Julia Langkraehr is a pioneering entrepreneur who built three multi-million pound companies and now works with entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses.

As an early pioneer of pop-ups, she founded Retail profile Europe, which creates opportunities for start-up retailers in shopping centres. In 2014 she launched Bold Clairty, introducing the Entrepreneurial operating System (EOS) to help UK businesses scale and grow.

 

Ben Taylor, ‘Managing Director of Keller Williams UK’

As Managing Director of progressive real estate company Keller Williams, Ben Taylor leads the UK arm of the world’s number one training company (as voted for by Training Magazine). In five years the company has grown from 70,000 people to over 160,000.

Ben has spent 25 years helping individuals develop self-belief and nurture talent to transform the performance of their business. His focus on building extraordinary culture, vision and lasting success through and with people.

 

Anne Groves, ‘Growing Reputation Into Your Own Professional Brand’

Anne Groves is a communications and training consultant, with over 30 years’ experience in public relations and reputation management. her most recent senior PR roles were at Clifford Chance and Anderson, following roles at insurers Old Mutual and Aviva, and The Guardian newspaper.

As a consultant, Anne has worked with top 50 UK and US law firms, with communications headhunter Taylor Bennett and at the Taylor Bennett Foundation, a charity training ethnically diverse graduates for PR careers.

 

David Abbott, ‘Prospect to Proposal Pricing: is it running you?’

David is an international speaker, helping audiences to discover simple ways to improve their pricing. After studying Engineering Science and Economics at Oxford, he worked in marketing and business management.

He ran a £56 m mail order company where pricing is crucial and has held senior marketing roles in a wide variety of industries. He applied psychology research into consumer behaviour to business and marketing. He illustrates everything with real examples of marketing in action.

 

Ian Price, ‘Financial Planning Ideas to Take You from Good to Great’

With over 35 years of working in financial services, Ian Price turns the dry topic of financial planning into a more entertaining experience.

He is seen as a thought leader in the world of pensions and retirement planning, regularly commenting and writing for the industry press. during his fast-paced talk, Ian will be covering how gunnercooke partners can best plan for retirement and ensure business profits are extracted in a tax efficient way.
