This year our Christmas campaign is to raise 1,000 hours of resource and support for charities and help make a difference
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be campaigning to get as much help as possible from businesses to give the gift of time to our inspire* charities. We will culminate in a celebratory event on Wednesday 5 December at Canada House and we would be delighted for you to come along, meet our inspire* charities and hear more about the fantastic work that you could help them to do.
Below are some of the pledges we’ve received so far and information about the charities who need your help…
Henshaws
Henshaws is a charity that supports people with a visual impairment and a range of other disabilities to achieve their ambitions and go beyond expectations. Their mission is to help reduce social isolation and increase independence through empowering people with sight loss and a range of disabilities to go beyond expectations and achieve their ambitions.
In 2017 Henshaws celebrated 180 years of helping people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities. They work throughout the North of England and support people in our specialist college, residential and supported housing, community centres and arts and crafts centre.
Their Pledge: support from experts in learning management systems, coding and professional e-learning designers to allow them to create a user experience through a mobile responsive e-learning modular platform.

Love For The Streets
Love For The Streets have a mission to reshape youth culture by making a difference in the community through creativity and co-production (i.e. working alongside beneficiaries to develop and execute projects). They work with small homeless charities to identify their volunteer requirements, then run social media and event marketing campaigns to recruit students to these charities. Funding for work is procured through student marketing consultancy and campaigns for businesses, charities and social enterprises.
Their Pledge: support from marketing experts to see how they can further improve their social media and event marketing campaigns for a great out-reach

Mellor Country House
Mellor Country House provides a place for groups, families and carers from the most deprived areas of the inner city of Greater Manchester, Salford and Stockport who otherwise would not have any break at all. They take in visitors from all ages, from the very young to the very elderly, from any race or religion, the thing they all have in common is they are all in great desperate need of a break from their everyday lives. All who visit leave with feelings of peace and happiness, hope for the future, and good memories to sustain them when they return to their everyday lives.
Their Pledge: volunteers to help with their large garden project, old and irreparable bikes and scooters to be replaced, more volunteers to help at fundraising events, and to replace the carpets and single beds in their bedrooms.

Network Young
Network Young CIC helps young people, aged 13-19 develop a high quality, professional network which in turn, will aid them in making more informed career choices. They run workshops on networking, personal branding, social media, and other 21st century career skills which aren’t taught in the classroom. Students also gain access to our directory of contacts; a collection of people from throughout Greater Manchester and beyond who have agreed to support the young people we work with by answering any questions they have about their specific career and inviting them into their networks.
Network Young was founded in 2013 and was inspired by the lack of quality career advice founder, Duncan McCombe, was offered whilst at school. They have worked directly with over 1,500 young people and connected with over 250 business people from across over 150 different businesses.
